MY URBAN PIANO Diary 5
Release of HEARTLAND
Episode 2 is out
We published my new music video Heartland a couple of weeks ago. If you haven’t seen the latest episode of MY URBAN PIANO yet, please take a moment to watch it. Every member of my Heartland crew has outreached themselves, and I am extremely proud of the final result:
Our directors Julie Schroell and Martine Glod came up with many wonderful ideas to visualize my music. In “Heartland”, actress Brigitte Urhausen personifies my music that is born from the piano and starts to discover the world. We see several beautiful locations in Esch and Schifflange like the blast furnaces of Esch/Belval, the “Passerelle” and the “Schifflinger Berg”, where I spent a lot of time as a teenager.
Release concert
The release of episode 2 of MY URBAN PIANO took place on 27.06.2017 at the Kulturfabrik in Esch-sur-Alzette. I couldn’t have wished for a better place or a finer audience to present “Heartland”. You can get a glimpse of the beautiful atmosphere in this little video about the release concert:
The Heartland Piano
We donated the piano of the video to the Kulturfabrik, where you can now see and play it at Ratelach, the Kufa Cafe. Raphael Gindt who designed the piano gives us some insight into the creation process of the “Heartland Piano” here:
Making Of
As for the first episode, we also produced a Making Of video for “Heartland”:
What’s next
We are now preparing episode 3 of MY URBAN PIANO which will be shot in Aarhus, Denmark. It’s going to be exciting, so stay tuned.

The single HEARTLAND is available on every streaming and download platform like iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify.
Pianist and composer David Ianni from Luxembourg has become well-known for his project MY URBAN PIANO: a series of music videos is produced in different European Capitals of Culture. An original composition is dedicated to each city, performed on an artistically designed piano. Each piano is donated. Join the journey and follow David on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and sign up for his newsletter. Each video plus making of material is published to David’s YouTube channel.
